Drop In Service

Available to -

• current students
• graduates who have graduated within the last 2 years; alternatively graduates seeking advice should contact REGSA, the Regional Educational Guidance Service for Adults.

Career advisory sessions are available on a “DROP IN” basis if you have a “Quick Query” or require a CV to be checked; it would be helpful if you email this prior to arriving at the “DROP IN”.  These meetings will be for an approximate 10 minute meeting on -

Monday from 2.00.p.m. to 4.00.p.m.

In order to make the most of your careers advisory session we recommend before you meet with the Careers Advisor that you -

• undertake some preliminary research
• bring with you a list of questions you wish to discuss
• copy of your up to date CV

If you want to make an appointment or have a particular short query requiring an answer, perhaps you would prefer to email this / use the Instant Messenger Service to the Careers Advisor for guidance.

Pre booked appointments, half an hour in duration are available on –

• Wednesday Careers Office, Cork Road Campus
• Friday mornings College Street campus

However, the College Street students are welcome to make appointments in either College Street or Cork Road.

The Careers Information Library, Top Floor, Luke Wadding Library, Cork Road Campus has details to assist you in-

• career planning, employment and further study search both at home and abroad
• free “take away” journals and magazines and booklets on occupations
• cv’s and covering letters and much more - check it out

• You will also find copies of these on our Career Centre stands located throughout the Institute and on our virtual Careers Information Library
• Within the Careers Information Library there are also computers available for you to use to access computer based guidance systems
• Videos and dvd’s are available for you to borrow from the Careers Office
