Visiting Scholarship to George Washington University for WIT's Gerard Arthurs
Posted: Mon, May 10, 2010

Gerard Arthurs, Lecturer in International Business at the School of Business in Waterford Institute of Technology, will take up a position as Visiting Scholar at George Washington University in Washington DC this summer. Based in the Elliott School of International Affairs, in the Institute for European, Russian and Eurasian Studies, he will spend a research period examining international diplomacy and transatlantic relations.

George Washington University is located just four blocks from the White House in Washington DC and, being created in 1821, is one of the oldest universities in the United States, currently accommodating more than 25,000 students. Ranked among the top universities in the US, GWU affords exceptional network potential, giving access to people and institutions in the heart of the American and international political capital.

Gerard's work will supplement his co-organisation of the School of Business' International Study Tour which sees more than 100 masters-level students spend time in Brussels engaging with the European Union's decision-making institutions and policymakers.
