The WIT Award for Excellence in Teaching 2006 was presented to Kevin Ryan of the WIT School of Engineering.
From the award citation:
"This award recognises Kevin’s contribution to his own students and the general student body in many ways. He is without doubt a real motivator of students. Kevin knows all his students by name regardless of his large class sizes. His involvement in the life of WIT extends far beyond his teaching. As manager of the Sigerson Cup squad for many years he showed great dedication and enthusiasm."
The WIT Award for Excellence in Research Supervision was presented to Dr. Anne Jordan of the School of Education.
From the award citation:
"Dr. Anne Jordan has contributed significantly to the initiation and development of postgraduate research and study with the School of Education and within WIT generally. Anne has been instrumental in the development of the new taught Masters in Teaching and Learning in Higher Education Institutes which is run in Waterford Institute of Technology and in other outreach locations such as Limerick Institute of Technology."
