Welcome to the Industry Services & Technology Transfer Office which works within the Office of Research & Innovation to support and develop innovation activity within the Institute.

Waterford Institute of Technology is committed to providing a research & development environment to support industry in the South East region and throughout Ireland. WIT collaborates with both large and small industries driving the development of the knowledge economy for the south-east region and beyond.

WIT has a number of Applied Research Centres in the areas of Telecommunications, Applied Materials, Pharmaceutical & Molecular Biotechnology and Eco-Innovation.  The Applied Research Centres have the resources and capability required to turn research in the science, engineering and technology arena into commercial benefits for the Regional economy in particular, and as a consequence, Ireland’s national economy will also benefit. WIT has a track record of licensing its technologies and supporting the creation of spin-out companies.

Waterford Institute of Technology’s Technology Transfer Office forms part of the Institute’s core infrastructure supporting research and innovation. Emanating from the increase in research investment and commercialisation activity, WIT secured funding from Enterprise Ireland for the development of this Technology Transfer Office.
