What is Software Systems Development ?
Software Systems Development is about the design and development of computer systems and the application of technology for all sectors of industry, particularly the business sector.
What is the BSc in Software Systems Development course?
The BSc in Software Systems Development is a three year degree programme that includes a flexible learning semester in year three. The flexible semester is a non contact semester and consists of industrial work placement or foreign student exchange.
The focus of the programme is to equip the student with a broad range of software development skills that can be applied across a large number of sectors –private and public – including hospitals, schools, banks, the retail sector and the automotive industry. The programme will also equip the student with the other skills required to work in the software systems industry, including the ability to work as part of a development team, and the ability to work with the system user through all stages of system development. At the heart of this programme is the belief that software should be imaginative and satisfy the needs of people who will be using it. The programme is relevant to the real world and is modelled on good practice in industry.
