Job Title: Development Engineer
Reporting to: SEAM Centre Manager
Duration: Initially for a period of 12 months
The Role
• Development of Finite element analysis model that will typically be used to support medical devices and pharmaceutical sectors.
• Support SEAM staff in Industrial project related activities.
• Support SEAM staff in writing proposals for various funding agencies.
Requirements:
Minimum
Applicants should have an honours Engineering Degree (ideally Mechanical or Biomedical Engineering/Materials Engg) with experience in the use of Finite Element Analysis (FEA). Please note that candidates will be short-listed based on the information supplied in their application
Desirable Skills
• 5 years engineering experience in a relevant R&D/Engineering environment
• Practical approach to problem solving, backed by good grasp of engineering principles
• Good Project Management skills
• Capable of diligent recording of outputs of work activity
• Proven track record in innovation product design and process development.
• Capable of working with various analytical equipments including scanning electron microscopy
• Capable of using high end 3D modelling packages ( Pro-E/ Solidworks )
• Familiarity with Ansys software
• Capable of working on own initiative
• Good team working and interpersonal skills
Salary: €40,000 per annum
